300 Attend Vern’s Data Center Forum in Casselton

CASSELTON, N.D. — Residents in Cass County are asking questions about the future of AI data centers in the region, including the potential of a new facility.
North Dakota agriculture commissioner candidate Vern Thompson hosted a public forum at Central Cass High School in Casselton on Tuesday night, Sept. 15, to discuss data center issues, inviting people to keep asking questions and advocating for their communities.
The school's auditorium was nearly full as the night started with information about how much water and electricity may be used by the Applied Digital data center under construction in Harwood.
“The passion that I have is to be honest and open and truthful with the people, because the people are the ones that should decide these things, not the politicians, not the powerful, not the out-of-state, multi-billion dollar corporations,” Thompson said.
