“The taxpayers have a right to know what elected officials are doing, and we haven't seen that.”

From KVRR:

Vern Thompson, the North Dakota Democratic-NPL candidate for Ag Commissioner, is sharing the results of an open records request his campaign made to the Ag Commission's Office.

The Thompson campaign submitted an open records request for information on Ag Commissioner Doug Goehring's activities from June of 2025 to June of this year.

The state initially told him the request would cost over $123,000, so a smaller request was made which cost only $468.

Thompson is accusing Goehring of not spending enough time at area town halls or visiting farmers.

He says Goehring has only met with 4 farmers over the past year.

One owned a grain elevator and one was a State Bank board member.
